Looks like many of our regulars were stumped and bowled out yesterday. Only 16 people managed to register their right answers in the blog, much lower than usual.

Congrats to Arvind Ramaswamy,(our first one in), Eddie Looby, Max Jackson, Samit Kallianpur, Arun Kumar,  Sohil,   RB Iyengar, Rengaswamy N, Raghavan S V, Srividya, Latha Muthanna (welcome to the blog), Lis Venky, Usha Mehta, Raju Umamaheswar, Sandhya Paruchuri and Krittibas Dasgupta.

The Clue was “Maybe Sher Khan’s mom getting cleaner? (8)”.

The Answer was “MANEATER”.

This is a neat charade clue. Mom is “MA” (abbreviation for “mom” used in crosswords) and “NEATER” is the synonym for “CLEANER”. “Getting” is a connector linking the two terms.

The definition is  “Maybe Sher Khan” which is a reference to the character from Jungle Book. This is a definition by example.

The annotation is {MA}{NEATER}

Once again, well done to each of you who not only solved it but also annotated it correctly in our blog post.

Now, Can you solve THIS clue?
