@Lowdowncryptic hosted this week and a special shout out for his fabulous hosting. He co-ordinated seamlessly with setters throughout the process and proactively encouraged many new participants, effectively “up”ping the bar for hosts:). Here’s his summary of the results…

We had a great response this week with 42 clues, and 7 or 8 of those were from #1ACCWC newcomers!

There were 7 clues about TRUMP. 3 of them focused on how his Supreme Court appointees overturned Roe v. Wade (including our 1st and 3rd place clues) and 4 were about how to PROSECUTE (t)RUM(p).

COMPUTER(S) featured in 13 clues. 8 of those involved a COMPUTER USER and 2 clues used COMPUTERS as the Letter Bank, which of course I was happy to see!

Top spot goes to first-time winner Dave Williams (@Skirwingle) for a smooth-as-silk clue seemingly ripped from the headlines:
Overturning ‘Roe’? Cue Trump’s appointed justices (7,5)

In 2nd place (by one point) is Nate Cardin with a nice, concise approach:
Wildly corrupt? Sue me here (7,5)

In 3rd place is the supreme Sowmya Ramkumar:
Top Judiciary using Trump’s cue overturns Roe (7,5)

And tied for 4th place we have Adman and Saurabh Upadhyay:
‘Prosecute Trump. Clip his wings’, ordered the highest judicial authority (7,5)
Computer user designed site of highest appeal (7,5)

Thanks to all for participating and to Sowmya for coordinating as always.

Congratulations, Dave Williams! Over to you for next week’s word and your hosting debut!

Congrats Dave – Your clue is now in our HALL OF FAME. Also, a warm welcome to #1ACCWC’s first timers @cleverwhatever, @inwitinwit, @polslaw, Hoyt Arcane, Danny Reichert, Rupert Morrish and @Timorlemosof and once again, thanks @Lowdowncryptic for the fabulous hosting.
