Stats – We had an excellent response to this grid with 49 submissions, as against 34 for our last grid!.  Of those who submitted  42 managed to complete the grid with zero errors, though only 24 got the maximum possible score of 130. Here’s the completed grid.

The Grid was themed on “Mathematics” which was the long solution for 23A. The solvers also had to answer 3 bonus questions, the answers for which are as follows: :

    1. What is the missing clue for 23a? (4,3,1,6) – A: WORK FOR A SUMMER
    2. What is revealed after shuffling the table of clues properly? (one word) A: ALGEBRA
    3. What are the two ways in which the above revelation happens? A: FIRST LETTERS OF CLUES, ALSO GREEK LABELS, IN THE GIVEN ORDER

You can access the Grid with solutions Here – Clicking Reveal ALL will show you the solutions, annotations and the answers to the bonus questions.

Also, there was an unfortunate mistake on 33A. The light used to be SI (not PI) originally, and while changing the solution, the clue was somehow picked up from an earlier version and led to SI. Luckily it’s a short word that gets filled completely by crossing entries. Apologies from the setter and from us for this unexpected lapse. The good news is that we checked all the submissions to see if anyone had answered SI and NO ONE got that wrong.

Here is the scorecard (sorted by total and then alphabetically). Congrats to  all of the participants who maxed the
score and to every one who participated including those who are still new to solving grids. Very well tried.

Grid Rating: The puzzle got a high score of 8.9. It got 18 perfect 10s. The minimum score was 5.

Top 3 Clues:  The most favorite clues were “BREEZES” with 11 votes, “HAWSER” with 10 votes and “HARE” with 9 votes each.

Hope you all enjoyed this fun math themed puzzle from Gussalufz. Its nice to see how the setter manages to use his programming skills and comes up with new and innovative puzzles. This was also reflected in the whopping 18 perfect 10s that the solvers awarded for this one. Did you like the puzzle? Do you have any feedback for us or for the setter?
