Textrous hosted the previous contest and here’s his summary of the results.

The cryptic clue writing competition for BROADCAST saw participation from 21 setters. I’d have hoped for a few more but can’t complain with a turnout of a score and more.

At 6th place is Sowmya Ramkumar for “British actors terribly bored by commercial show” with 20 points and 13 votes.

At 5th, we have Sitter for “Acrobats in trouble clutching top of dodgy beam” with 22 points and 14 votes.

At 3rd spot is @LowdownCryptic for “Entertained by tumbling acrobats, daughter beamed” with 25 points and 12 votes.


At Joint 3rd place appears Polslaw for “Programme features “Breaking Bad” actors” with 25 points and 14 votes.

At 2nd place we run into Ramki Krishnan for “Acrobats beginning to do somersaults in show” with 30 points and 16 votes.

And right at the top, (drumroll) is Abhay Phadnis for the topical acrostic “Programme heads of BBC rule out any discussion concerning Andrew’s sexual transgressions” with 37 points and 14 votes.
