We had a three way tie for the second place between Sowmya (me), Heidi and Supriya, each polling 13 votes. However Vinit’s breaking rules took away the gold with just one more vote.
This clue is now in our 1ACCWC Hall of Fame. Congrats to Vinit and the others on the podium.

Thanks to all of you who have participated and submitted entries. We had a muted response for the contest. We received 35 entries in all from 22 setters. 13 setters used their full quota of 2 clues while the remaining participated with one clue each.
Anagrams ruled this game and we had 21 partial or full anagrams. We had a higher than normal number of telescopic clues (5) and a smattering of other clue types.
The most popular word play idea seemed to be some version of LEI* plus SURE.
